Supreme Court of India Samadhan Samaroh 2026
Overview
As part of the ‘Samadhan Samaroh 2026’ initiative, the Supreme Court of India conducted a Special Lok Adalat to promote consensual dispute resolution. The program, which began in April 2026 under the guidance of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, aims to reduce the burden of prolonged litigation through mediated adjudication.
On the first day of the three-day session starting August 21, more than 400 cases were settled across 16 Special Lok Adalat Benches. These sessions addressed various matters, including matrimonial, property, motor accident, land acquisition, tax, and labour disputes.
By the conclusion of the event on August 23, the court had resolved a total of 1,712 cases. Of the 3,285 matters listed, 1,664 were settled through Lok Adalat benches and 48 via mediation. During this three-day period, a total of Rs 240.94 crore was disbursed.
