Syrian Hajj 2027 season administration

Overview

The Syrian Ministry of Awqaf's Hajj and Umrah Department initiated the selection process for the 1448 AH (2027) Hajj season by conducting a lottery at Al-Furat University in Deir ez-Zor. The total quota for the season is 22,500 pilgrims, a decrease from the approximately 24,500 pilgrims in the previous season. This quota includes primary allocations, a presidential grant of 525 pilgrims, and a grant of 175 pilgrims from the Emir of Qatar.

Following the lottery, the Syrian Hajj and Umrah Administration announced the financial and logistical requirements for the season. The first installment of costs is set at $3,500 USD, payable via Sham Cash or Al Baraka Bank between October 11 and October 27, 2026. This fee covers accommodation, services at holy sites, supplies, catering, and transportation, though it excludes sacrificial offerings and private rooms.

Logistical details specify that pilgrims must travel through designated airports in Damascus, Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, Istanbul, Gaziantep, and Cairo. Furthermore, travelers must comply with Saudi Ministry of Health regulations, which include medical restrictions for individuals with active infectious diseases, major organ failure, active cancerous tumors, or high-risk pregnancies.
