TAGsTwo precision agriculture project
Overview
The TAGsTwo project, co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A Greece-Italy 2021-2027 Program, is advancing research and innovation in the agri-food sector through the development of a Decision Support System (DSS). This digital tool integrates data from sensors, drones, and other devices to optimize crop management, including irrigation, fertilization, and disease control.
Following technical meetings and exchange visits in Patras, Greece, the project has moved into the testing phase at pilot sites in Calabria, Italy, and Western Greece. At the Azienda Agricola Quattrò site in Guardavalle, researchers from Cetma, Crea, and Gal Serre Calabresi are collecting data from olive groves and citrus orchards. This experimentation aims to validate the DSS using mathematical models and algorithms to improve agricultural sustainability, resource use, and resilience against climate change.
