Taiwan AI and semiconductor talent development

Taiwanese industry and academic leaders are coordinating efforts to address talent sustainability and specialized training in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.

At a business forum in Hsinchu, representatives from TSMC Charitable Foundation and National Tsing Hua University discussed how generative AI and ESG standards are reshaping human resources. Discussions focused on a shift toward valuing wisdom, experience, and cross-disciplinary communication. Peng Guanyu, CEO of the TSMC Charitable Foundation, introduced the ‘3D Talent Cube’ model, which incorporates communication and collaborative influence into formal talent assessment.

In the academic sector, universities are implementing targeted training programs to meet these industry demands. Da-Yeh University has launched a project funded by the Ministry of Education to enhance student skills in smart chip design, machine vision, and system integration. Additionally, Ling Hua University of Science and Technology is expanding its AI education through international initiatives, including student internships in Canada focused on applying generative AI to digital marketing and content creation.
