Taiwan holiday rail service expansions

Overview

Taiwanese rail operators are increasing services and managing ticket sales to accommodate high passenger demand during upcoming holiday periods.

In late August, the Taiwan Railway Administration (TRA) announced the addition of 158 train services for the Mid-Autumn Festival and Teachers' Day long weekend. Simultaneously, the TRA opened bookings for the October holiday, reporting high initial sales volumes and maintaining prioritized real-name services for residents of Hualien and Taitung counties.
