In late July 2026, Taiwanese non‑governmental groups expanded efforts to support socially disadvantaged seniors and people with disabilities. On July 24, the Hongdao Elder Welfare Foundation ran a half‑day, wheelchair‑friendly trip to Qijin for twelve elders in Kaohsiung, while the Water Wheelchair Dream Park organized a barrier‑free canoeing event for about forty participants with disabilities in Hualien. Both activities emphasized accessible transport, specialized equipment and volunteer assistance to enable outdoor recreation.

Two days later, the Huashan Foundation in Chiayi teamed with Showtime Life for a pop‑up popcorn charity, using celebrity ambassador Eddy Zhang to raise funds for year‑round home‑care services for widowed, disabled or dementia‑affected seniors. Concurrently, a senior learning centre from Kaohsiung’s Taoyuan district visited the Longjing Agricultural Association in Taichung, where elders performed a farm‑themed drama, sang indigenous songs and took part in dances, fostering inter‑regional cultural exchange and promoting active‑ageing programmes across the island.
