Tajikistan industrial and infrastructure development

Tajikistan is advancing its industrial, educational, and administrative infrastructure through international cooperation and domestic development projects.

In July 2026, the government announced that Dushanbe would host the fourth meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) industry ministers in September. This event is expected to include international forums on sectors such as artificial intelligence, mining, and textiles. Concurrently, President Emomali Rahmon approved several senior government appointments aimed at digitalizing public administration and boosting industrial investment, specifically placing young professionals with digital expertise into leadership roles.

By August 2026, domestic infrastructure expansion continued with the inauguration of several facilities in Tursunzoda. These developments included the opening of a large-scale secondary school with specialized laboratories, as well as new industrial enterprises such as a mineral wool producer, a garment workshop, a brick manufacturing plant, and a cold-storage facility for the agricultural market.
