Tamaulipas youth tourism ambassador program

Overview

The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Tourism and the Secretariat of Social Welfare have introduced ‘Turistas por Tamaulipas’, an educational initiative for children between the ages of 6 and 12. The program is designed to cultivate local identity and pride in the state’s heritage.

Participants engage in visits to the Museo Barco to study local history, legends, and significant sites. The program also introduces children to the professional duties of tourism guides. Upon completion, children receive a symbolic ‘Official BARCO Guide Certification’, designating them as ambassadors for tourism in Tamaulipas.
