Tasos Douvikas tenure at Como 1907

Following his signing by manager Cesc Fàbregas, striker Tasos Douvikas has established himself as a key figure for Como 1907. Fàbregas previously cited Douvikas’s mentality and desire for improvement as primary reasons for his recruitment to address the squad’s lack of finishing ability.

Douvikas has maintained significant form, recording 17 goals and 3 assists in 44 matches during a highly successful previous campaign. In the current season, the 27-year-old has scored three goals in six appearances.

In response to his performance, Como 1907 has reached a definitive agreement to extend Douvikas’s contract. While initial reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport indicated a renewal until 2030, the club has officially announced a contract extension securing his services until 2031. This new deal includes an increased annual salary of approximately three million euros.

Since joining during the 2024/25 winter transfer window, Douvikas has recorded 27 goals and five assists in 68 appearances across all competitions. His impact extends to European competition, including a recent Champions League League Phase match where Como defeated Manchester United 4-1. Following that fixture, Fàbregas noted he had instructed players, specifically mentioning Douvikas, to reduce intensity while leading 4-0 to manage energy for upcoming matches.

Douvikas has continued his scoring streak, netting in three consecutive Champions League matches and recording a two-goal performance against Sassuolo in Serie A.
