Tatra National Park infrastructure and safety projects

Overview

Infrastructure and safety projects are underway in the Tatra National Park (TANAP). In late September, the Kriváň hiking path faced temporary closures to facilitate the installation of new chains and securing equipment on exposed sections. This work was a collaborative effort involving the Hikemates tourist club, the TANAP Administration, and the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic.

By early October, the hiking trail from Troj studničky to Kriváň reopened to the public following the completion of these renovations. The improvements, which included wooden steps, railings, and 180 meters of chains, were achieved through voluntary efforts from the Hikemates club, sponsors, and the public.

In a separate development within the park, the TANAP administration is overseeing a state-funded enclosure project in Tatranská Javorina. This project, titled ‘Oplotenie katastrálneho územia Tatranská Javorina’, involves the construction of 625 meters of fencing and is estimated to cost over 400,000 EUR.
