Teacher training infrastructure expansion in Ghana

Overview

In Ghana’s Bono East Region, efforts to expand teacher training infrastructure are underway to address overcrowding and capacity shortages.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has approved an infrastructure package for the Atebubu College of Education (ATECOE) to provide new lecture facilities and relief for the institution, which has previously faced shortages of halls and accommodation.

Simultaneously, construction is progressing on the St. Dominic College of Education in Tuobodom. Developed in partnership with the Catholic Diocese, this new facility is intended to increase tertiary enrollment and provide local training opportunities for students in the Techiman North and South areas, reducing travel requirements for teacher training.
