Teatro Lirico Sperimentale 80th anniversary celebrations

Overview

The Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto is marking its 80th season with various musical productions and celebrations. Recent performances included a successful production of ‘La cantatrice calva’, featuring music by Luciano Chailly and direction by Marco Angius.

To commemorate the institution’s 80th anniversary and the UNESCO recognition of Italian operatic singing as part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, a special event is scheduled for October 7 at the Teatro Caio Melisso. The program will feature two one-act works by Marcello Panni: the tragic ‘Hanjo’ and the comic farce ‘Lo stratagemma dell’avvocato Manigoldi’.
