TEDi acquisition of Woolworth Poland stores

Overview

In early August 2026 German discount retailer TEDi announced it would acquire Woolworth’s Polish operations, covering roughly 72‑74 stores and more than 500 jobs, ending Woolworth’s brief presence in the market. TEDi’s CEO framed the deal as a milestone toward expanding the chain to about 600 outlets in Poland and eventually 5,000‑10,000 stores across Europe.
