Tehran electric vehicle charging tariff updates
Overview
The Tehran City Council has approved new electric vehicle (EV) charging service tariffs for the Persian calendar year 1405. These rates represent a 42 percent increase over the previous year.
Under the new regulations, users will pay for station operation services in addition to electricity consumption. Fast DC charging is set at 12,540 Rials per kilowatt-hour, while standard AC charging will cost 8,078 Rials per kilowatt-hour. To assist public transit, electric buses operated by the unified bus company will receive free charging. Additionally, high-mileage electric taxi drivers are eligible for a 50 percent discount on service fees.
Seyyed Jafar Tashakkori Hashemi, head of the council’s program and budget commission, stated that the municipality is required to delegate the management and operation of all charging stations to the private sector to facilitate infrastructure expansion and service delivery.
