Overview
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has introduced a new education policy aimed at supporting the state’s ‘Rising 2047’ goals and its objective of reaching a USD 1 trillion economy. Furthering these reforms, the government announced plans to integrate polytechnic colleges with the Young India Skills University (YISU) to align diploma courses with industrial sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and semiconductors. While addressing opposition claims, the Chief Minister denied allegations of polytechnic privatization, asserting that these institutions will remain under government control.
To support modernization, the Tata Group has signed a memorandum of understanding to invest approximately ₹4,000 crore to upgrade 59 polytechnic colleges, focusing on infrastructure, laboratories, and faculty capabilities.
