Teledyne LeCroy USB4 Version 2.0 testing developments

Overview

Teledyne LeCroy has expanded its testing capabilities for the USB4 Version 2.0 specification through new software and hardware releases.

Initially, the company announced a software option for its Voyager M480x protocol analyzer, known as the USB4 v2.0/Thunderbolt 5 PAM3 Exerciser. This option supports Gen 4 link rates of up to 80 Gbps symmetric and 120 Gbps asymmetric bandwidth, allowing developers to validate functionality and interoperability for future designs.

Following this, Teledyne LeCroy launched the Voyager M4120, a protocol analyzer specifically designed to emulate and analyze the new 120 Gb/s asymmetric link configuration. This technology enables different lane speeds in each direction, such as using three lanes for 120 Gb/s in one direction and a single lane for 40 Gb/s in the opposite, supporting high-bandwidth applications like real-time video processing.
