Telewizja Polsat content distribution expansion

Overview

Telewizja Polsat has entered into several significant agreements to expand its content reach and distribution methods. In early October, the broadcaster signed a major content deal with BBC Studios, marking the largest sales package the studio has concluded in the Polish market. This agreement provides Polsat’s Free TV and Basic TV portfolios with over 200 hours of programming, including crime dramas, natural history documentaries, and the rights to produce the Polish edition of ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

Later in the month, Polsat announced a strategic partnership with YouTube to distribute tens of thousands of hours of programming on the digital platform. This collaboration aims to reach new audiences by making titles such as ‘Rodzina zastępcza’ and ‘Taniec z Gwiazdami’ available on smartphones, consoles, and Smart TVs. The deal introduces a new monetization model where Polsat Media manages the direct sale of video advertisements for its content.
