Tennessee middle school football field incident

A 16-year-old girl, identified as Addison Hunnicutt, faces assault and disorderly conduct charges following an incident during a middle school football game between South Middle School and Cornersville Middle School in Franklin County, Tennessee.

Authorities report that Hunnicutt jumped a fence and entered the field during a matchup at Franklin County High School after a scuffle broke out between players. Video footage shows her tackling a 13-year-old player and pushing him toward the turf. Hunnicutt stated she intervened because she believed her younger brother was being unfairly targeted, claiming, “Somebody has to stop this.”

The incident resulted in the game being halted and the stadium being cleared. While no injuries were reported, Hunnicutt was taken into custody and released to her parents. She has been permanently banned from all Franklin County School System properties and barred by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association from attending Cornersville Middle School games for one year.
