Overview

Tesla has introduced several updates to its Model 3 and Model Y vehicle lineups, spanning efficiency improvements, interior aesthetics, and market-specific pricing strategies.

In Europe, the base rear-wheel-drive Model 3 saw its WLTP range increase from 534 km to 572 km. This 38 km gain is attributed to the adoption of low rolling resistance Giti tires rather than changes to the battery or motor, reducing energy consumption to approximately 12.1–12.2 kWh/100 km. Additionally, the Model Y Premium variant now offers a ‘Zen Grey’ interior option for approximately €1,200, replacing the previous white interior with microsuede and textile decor on the center console, door handles, and armrests.

To address declining demand in China, Tesla has implemented price reductions and financial incentives. The Model 3 received a 5,000 yuan discount, while the Model Y received a 10,000 yuan reduction, supplemented by an 8,000 yuan insurance subsidy and five-year zero-percent financing options.

Tesla also launched a refreshed Model Y Performance variant in China. Priced at 369,000 yuan, this all-wheel-drive model features a 659 km range and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.5 seconds. This follows previous regulatory filings indicating the Performance variant would utilize a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and a 78.4 kWh battery pack.
