TF1 broadcast of Oradour historical film

Overview

TF1 has announced the broadcast of ‘Oradour’, a historical two-part television film starring singer and actor Matt Pokora. The production, directed by Pierre Aknine and produced by Mediawan, is scheduled to air on September 24, 2026.

The film depicts the events surrounding the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre of June 10, 1944, in which a Waffen-SS division killed approximately 642 or 643 men, women, and children. Pokora portrays an officer of the Free French Forces who reunites with a former love during a mission in the region.

Pokora, who co-produced the project, stated a desire to engage with the collective memory of France, noting that younger generations may be unaware of the tragedy. To prepare for the role, he met with Robert Hébras, one of the last survivors of the massacre, in 2022.
