Thailand railway derailment and investigation

Overview

A cargo train derailment near Chonburi Station caused the obstruction of both directions on the eastern line. The incident involved freight train number 845, which resulted in six cargo wagons derailing.

While no injuries or fatalities were reported, an investigation found that seven out of eight guard rail bolts were missing from the site. Authorities are investigating whether the theft or loss of these components caused the derailment, and the State Railway of Thailand has filed a police report regarding the potential theft of railway equipment.
