The Navigator Company industrial and forestry investments
Overview
The Navigator Company has implemented several large-scale investment initiatives focused on decarbonization and forestry sector modernization in Portugal.
Through projects supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the company has invested approximately 193 million euros to reduce CO2 emissions by nearly 300,000 tonnes. These efforts include installing recovery boilers, biomass kilns, cogeneration units, and photovoltaic plants across various industrial sites. The company aims for an 86% reduction in emissions by 2035.
Additionally, the company launched the Innovative Supplier Network (RFI), an 84 million euro program designed to support 124 partners within the Navigator Forest Producers Club. This initiative, developed under the Portugal 2030 and COMPETE 2030 frameworks, provides incentives for wood suppliers and forestry service providers to invest in technology, digitalization, and new processes to increase operational efficiency.
