Theft and fraud investigations in Thessaly

Overview

Police in the Thessaly region have resolved nine cases involving theft and fraud committed between August 19 and August 29, 2026. The crimes took place across the municipalities of Tempi, Tyrnavos, Farsala, and Mouzaki.

An organized group utilized a rented vehicle to target homes by breaking through doors and windows or entering via unsecured points to steal jewelry and cash. Additionally, the group engaged in fraud by posing as accountants to illicitly collect fines and valuables. The total illegal profit is estimated to exceed 70,000 euros, which includes more than 15,000 euros in cash. Four Greek men, aged 19, 27, 30, and 31, have been charged alongside unidentified individuals.
