Theft of Nvidia-branded trailers in California
Overview
Thieves in Newark, California, targeted two trailers branded with Nvidia and PlusAI logos, apparently expecting to steal high-value artificial intelligence hardware or GPUs. However, the trailers contained only sand used by the autonomous trucking startup PlusAI to simulate heavy freight loads during research and development testing.
The trailers were later recovered after being abandoned near another company’s office. While the theft was motivated by the Nvidia branding, no actual high-tech equipment or autonomous driving hardware was reported stolen or damaged. The Fremont Police Department is investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.
