Theme park developments in Romania
Overview
Two distinct large scale entertainment projects are being developed in Romania.
In Gherghița, near Bucharest, a massive private investment known as Dracula Land is planned to span 164 hectares. The complex is intended to include a theme park with over 40 attractions, a 22,500 capacity arena for concerts and e-sports, a fashion district, an aqua park, and a racing track. Construction for this project is expected to begin in 2027.
Separately, the Dracula Park Transylvania project has received construction permits from the Miercurea Ciuc municipality for a 25.6-hectare site in Zsögödfürdő. Led by investor András Lénárd and the Italian firm Antonio Zamperla Spa, the first phase requires an investment of 56 million euros. The park will focus on Transylvanian folklore and history, featuring attractions such as roller coasters and haunted castles, with an anticipated opening in 2027.
