Togo SME administrative and tax reforms

Overview

Togo has implemented new measures to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through administrative and digital reforms.

In late August 2026, the Ministry of Finance and Budget launched an accreditation process for Approved Management Centers (Centres de Gestion Agréés, or CGA). This initiative aims to provide professional assistance in accounting, financial oversight, and tax compliance to help small businesses improve their credibility with financial institutions.

On September 17, 2026, the Office Togolais des Recettes (OTR) officially launched the e-TPU digital platform in Lomé. This tool enables micro-enterprises, artisans, and small businesses to perform the online declaration and payment of the Taxe Professionnelle Unique (TPU) via computers, tablets, or smartphones. By transitioning from manual, paper-based processes to a 24/7 digital system, the OTR intends to modernize tax administration, reduce administrative errors, and eliminate long queues at tax centers to simplify compliance for small taxpayers.
