The fourth edition of the Tokyo Gendai international contemporary art fair was scheduled to take place at Pacifico Yokohama from September 11 to September 13, 2026.

Initial announcements detailed a program including the ‘Art Talks’ series, a special booth by Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery, and a video screening program titled ‘Sato Meadow’. The event also featured a collaboration with China’s ‘PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai’ to bring Chinese galleries to the ‘Miki Trunk’ sector.

Upon opening, the fair was reported to feature 69 galleries organized into five sectors, including the digital media-focused ‘Tane Seed’ sector and the newly introduced ‘Miki Trunk’ sector, which focuses on works on paper and prints. The event also included the Hana Artist Award and various site-specific installations. Organizers announced that starting next year, the fair will relocate to the Ariake GYM-EX in Tokyo and move its schedule to November.
