Tourism and cultural development in central Vietnam

Overview

Central Vietnamese provinces are implementing various initiatives to strengthen regional tourism and cultural ties. Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri have entered a cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period, focusing on linking historical and cave sites with coastal destinations to attract international travelers, specifically from Russia and South Korea.

Building on these regional efforts, Khanh Hoa has transitioned toward a more unified branding strategy. The province has launched a new initiative titled ‘The Odyssey of the Four Bays’ to enhance regional attractiveness by connecting the coastal areas of Nha Trang, Van Phong, Cam Ranh, and Vinh Hy. This strategy aims to transform Khanh Hoa into a top-tier regional destination within its 2026–2030 development plan, moving from individual destination exploitation toward a unified, multi-faceted experiential space.

To support this branding, a photography exhibition titled ‘Khanh Hoa - The Odyssey of the Four Bays’ is being held at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Convention Center through September 2026. Featuring works from eight award-winning photographers, the showcase aims to tell a cohesive story of the region’s natural beauty, maritime culture, and local community life.
