Tourism promotion of Camino de Uclés routes

Overview

Efforts to promote the historical Camino de la Orden de Santiago, which connects Madrid and Cuenca, have focused on both rural hiking and cycling tourism.

In August, the Community of Madrid promoted the Camino de Uclés as a summer rural tourism route. The 145-kilometer path consists of eleven stages passing through several municipalities in the southeast of the region, allowing travelers to explore local cultural and gastronomic heritage.

In September, the eighth edition of CUCLÉS, a self-sufficient cycle tourism initiative, was held to highlight the historical and natural heritage of the region. The event utilized an itinerary based on historical routes used by the Order of Santiago to transform medieval paths into modern sporting and tourism opportunities.
