The error can cause the display to shut off or fail to appear upon startup, resulting in a blank screen. This failure may disable critical information, including the speedometer, warning lights, turn-signal indicators, and audible alerts such as seat belt reminders, which increases the risk of accidents.

In the United States, the recall affects approximately 508,000 2025–2026 Camry models, specifically the LE, SE, and Nightshade trims. In Canada, the recall involves about 11,159 units. In Australia, the defect affects 16,238 Camry sedans produced between May 2024 and May 2026.

Toyota intends to rectify the issue through a free dealer-installed software update.
