Toyota introduced the 2027 Crown as its flagship hybrid sedan for the North American market, featuring the new fifth‑generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5). The model combines a 2.5‑L gasoline engine with front‑and‑rear electric motors and standard all‑wheel drive on most trims, while the top‑of‑the‑range Platinum retains a 2.4‑L turbo‑charged Hybrid MAX unit delivering 340 hp. Interior upgrades include dual 12.3‑inch digital displays, a 10‑inch head‑up display, digital key and a 360‑degree camera system. Pricing in the United States starts around $41,600–$42,800, roughly $200 higher than the previous model, and the Crown is positioned between traditional sedans and SUVs. In Japan the Crown continues to be sold as a luxury four‑door offering both hybrid and fuel‑cell variants, priced between ¥7.3 million and ¥8.5 million.
