Recent reports highlight various traditional Polish recipes and cooking techniques. Featured dishes include meatloaf prepared in jars to replicate flavors from the PRL era, using pork shoulder, bacon, and specific seasonings like marjoram and coriander.

Other culinary focuses include minced meat cutlets, where sautéed onions and water are used to maintain juiciness, as well as regional specialties such as Silesian heaven, which combines smoked meat with dried fruits. Expanding into modern catering, PKP Intercity has introduced a new autumn and winter 2026/2027 menu for its Wars dining cars, available on over 450 trains. This updated selection aims to provide a “restaurant-like experience” for travelers, moving beyond standard offerings like sausages and pierogi. The menu includes a Polish breakfast with egg scramble, chicken sous-vide with camembert for premium services, and various meat and vegetarian options. Notable additions are Italian-style schiacciata, breaded camembert with cranberry, and a vegan bigos with plum.
