Traffic accidents in Greece

Overview

Multiple traffic accidents and incidents have been reported across various regions in Greece.

In mid-August, two serious collisions occurred in Preveza and Evros. In Preveza, a heavy truck struck three stationary passenger cars at the entrance of the Aktio-Preveza subsea tunnel, injuring eight people. In the Evros region, a collision between two passenger cars on the Ormenio–Ardenio axis injured six people, including a family traveling with German license plates.

Subsequent reports detailed further incidents, including an 82-year-old woman driving the wrong way on the Athens-Corinth National Road with an expired license. In Evia, a 22-year-old man sustained head injuries after falling from a cliff following a vehicle excursion, and a separate collision in Limni required firefighters to rescue a woman trapped in her car.
