Traffic accidents involving trucks in Germany

Overview

Individual traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles have been reported on German highways.

In July, an autotransporter carrying four cars veered off the B12 near Wildpoldsried in Bavaria, causing a ten-hour closure of the road between Kempten and Wildpoldsried. The driver sustained minor injuries, and damages were estimated at approximately €350,000, including guardrail destruction and soil contamination.

In August, a tire blowout on a semi-trailer truck on the BAB6 highway near Horrenberg led to a multi-vehicle collision involving another semi-trailer and an Audi. The Audi driver sustained minor injuries. Total damages for this incident were estimated at approximately 80,000 EUR.
