Traffic control measures in Belgrade

Overview

One-way traffic control spikes have been installed at the entrance to the parking lot near the Serbian National Assembly on Nikola Pašić Square in Belgrade. These metal spikes are designed to deploy and potentially puncture tires if a vehicle travels in a prohibited direction.

Stefan Simić, a councilor for the Movement of Free Citizens, criticized the installation on social media, targeting Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Šapić and suggesting the measures are excessive. While the spikes are not explicitly mentioned in the Serbian Traffic Signaling Regulations, they are currently in use in the country. The parking area is located within zone A.3, which limits stays to a maximum of 30 minutes.
