Traffic fatalities in Hai Phong
Overview
A series of fatal traffic accidents occurred in Hai Phong on October 25 and 26, involving both motorcycles and bicycles.
On the morning of October 25, a collision involving two motorcycles on Vo Van Kiet Boulevard resulted in four deaths, including three teenagers. In response, Colonel Nguyen Duc Thinh, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong City Police, ordered a review of local traffic infrastructure and mandated increased patrols. Authorities also initiated a crackdown on illegal vehicle modification shops.
On October 26, two additional accidents involving students were reported. An 11th-grade student died at a scene after a collision with a truck at the intersection of My Liet and National Highway 10. Separately, a university student died following a collision between his motorcycle and a tractor-trailer on National Highway 5 near Mao Dien Commune.
