The Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) has arrested the primary leader of a transnational drug trafficking organization in the Portalegre district. The suspect had been a fugitive for approximately 13 months and is currently in preventive detention.

The GNR stated that this latest arrest has “successfully neutralized the entire command chain of the criminal organization.”
