Truck accidents on Dutch motorways
Overview
Recent incidents involving heavy vehicles have caused significant disruptions on major motorways in the Netherlands.
On October 2, a collision between a passenger car and a truck on the A9 motorway near Amstelveen resulted in the truck overturning and striking a guardrail. The accident caused a full closure of the highway in both directions, damaging the road surface, a tunnel wall, and the RIMOB system. Recovery efforts required heavy vehicles and a telecrane.
On October 7, a collision between two trucks occurred on the A15 motorway near Oostvoorne. One truck overturned and rotated nearly 180 degrees following an overtaking maneuver, while the second truck suffered three flat tires. The incident resulted in one driver being hospitalized and necessitated a complete closure of the A15 from the Maasvlakte area until the following morning.
