Truck fires on Cubatão highway

Overview

A series of truck fires occurred on the Cônego Domênico Rangoni Highway in Cubatão, São Paulo.

On August 12, a dump truck loaded with stones caught fire at the Serrinha climb. The Fire Department and Ecovias responded to the blaze, which completely destroyed the vehicle. No victims were reported, though traffic was restricted to a single lane during the operation.

On August 18, another incident took place at kilometer 256 on the express lane toward Guarujá. An articulated truck's cabin was destroyed by flames. The driver was able to exit the vehicle safely before the fire spread, resulting in no injuries. Emergency teams worked to prevent the fire from reaching nearby vegetation, necessitating the temporary closure of multiple lanes.
