Trump Mobile data breach

Overview

A hacker group known as BYOD has claimed responsibility for a data breach affecting approximately 3,615 customers of Trump Mobile, a mobile operator launched by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

The breach reportedly targeted the technical infrastructure of Liberty Mobile, the firm providing services to Trump Mobile, rather than the operator’s own systems. Attackers claim they gained access by infecting an employee terminal at Liberty Mobile with a Remote Access Trojan (RAT). The leaked information includes full names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, order details, and service cancellation records. The dataset also reportedly contains the personal information of Eric Brennet, the Chief Information Officer of the Trump Organization.

BYOD alleges that when they attempted to contact Trump Mobile regarding the intrusion, the company stated they had ‘no team to handle this’. While some security researchers have verified the authenticity of the leaked records, Trump Mobile has not issued a formal public statement confirming the breach.
