Turkey aerospace and aviation education expansion

Overview

Turkey is expanding its aerospace and aviation education through specialized academic programs and regional STEM initiatives.

In Bursa, the Gökmen Space and Aviation Center (GUHEM) has transitioned from a museum into an academic institution. Through a protocol with the Ministry of National Education and TÜBİTAK, the GUHEM Aviation and Space Technologies Science High School has commenced its first academic term with an initial cohort of 48 students. The program includes a preparatory year and aims to provide qualified human resources for the nation’s defense and aerospace industries.

Complementing these academic developments, regional programs such as the Aviation and Space Summer Course in Konya have been implemented. Organized by the Selçuklu Development and Technology Academy, these courses provide middle and high school students with practical training in aerodynamics, rocket design, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to foster interest in STEM fields.
