Turkey digital safety and family support initiatives
Overview
Turkey has implemented various digital tools to enhance the safety and support of women, children, and families.
The KADES (Women’s Direct Security Line) mobile application, launched in 2018, has approached 10 million downloads. The platform has processed over 239,000 alerts, with approximately 64% verified as genuine. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi noted that the app provides a direct security link between women and the state. This is supplemented by an electronic bracelet system used to monitor gender-based violence, which has tracked over 13,000 incidents since 2021.
Expanding on digital safety initiatives, the Ministry of Family and Social Services has introduced tools for child protection and parenting. The ‘Çocuklar Güvende’ (Children are Safe) app enables parents to report inappropriate content and seek assistance regarding issues like peer bullying. Furthermore, the ‘İlk Öğretmenim Ailem’ (My Family is My First Teacher) application has reached more than 2 million families since April 2025, offering resources on child development and emotional challenges.
