Turkey domestic LIFELINE HLM medical technology deployment
Overview
The LIFELINE HLM, a domestically developed heart-lung machine created through a collaboration between ASELSAN, the Turkish Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB), and the Ministry of Health, has entered clinical application in Turkey. The device is intended to reduce foreign dependency on medical technologies.
Following its initial implementation at Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, the machine was successfully utilized for the first time at Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital, where it supported four cases including triple bypass and minimally invasive heart valve surgeries.
Subsequent reports indicate the device has now successfully completed 15 surgeries with “zero errors” across both Ankara Bilkent City Hospital and Gaziantep University, demonstrating its clinical reliability.
