Furthermore, residents claim contractors are demanding substantial additional payments, sometimes reaching 2.5 million TL per unit, due to inflation.
In response to the Karabağlar TOKİ project, AK Party İzmir Provincial Chairman Bilal Saygılı stated that work has accelerated following delays caused by legal challenges from previous local administrations. The project, consisting of 786 housing units, is reported to be 15% complete with a target delivery date of summer 2027.
