Overview

Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) conducted the lottery for the 2027 Hajj on 22 July 2026, selecting 84,942 pilgrims from 1,878,046 applicants. The draw, overseen by a notary and livestreamed on Diyanet’s YouTube channel, was posted at 20:00 CET on the e‑Devlet portal, where candidates could verify their status using their Turkish ID number and password; successful applicants also received SMS notifications.

Pilgrims must confirm their place through online registration on e‑Devlet between 30 July and 18 August 2026. Diyanet President Safi Arpaguş reiterated the spiritual importance of the pilgrimage, warned against fraud, and reminded that entry requires a valid Saudi Hajj visa, a Nüsük Card, and a passport that remains valid at least until 20 November 2027.

Separately, Diyanet announced that applications for health personnel (specialist doctors, general practitioners, dentists, dietitians) to serve during the Hajj will be accepted from 28 July to 2 August 2026 via the hac.gov.tr portal. Eligibility rules include age limits (born after 1 Jan 1967 for specialists, after 1 Jan 1972 for practitioners), a minimum service period, and no prior assignment to the 2026‑2027 Hajj.

The pilgrimage is scheduled for 17 April–11 May 2027, with return travel from 20 May–15 June 2027.
