Turkey marriage support project for young couples

The Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services has implemented a ‘Support for Young People Getting Married’ project, part of the broader Family and Youth Fund initiative, to reduce economic burdens on newlyweds and strengthen family structures.

In Niğde, local officials celebrated the program through events for couples who established homes via the initiative. This local implementation involved partnerships with 51 businesses offering discounts of 15% to 50% on items such as furniture, wedding attire, and salon services.

Nationally, the program has expanded significantly. By 2024, the number of participating companies reached 1,191, including 44 national and 1,147 local firms, providing discounts between 5% and 40%. Couples can access these benefits through discount codes via the e-Devlet system. The Ministry has also collaborated with 22 non-governmental organizations and 190 local governments to provide additional aid, such as dowry assistance and free wedding ceremonies or halls.

As of September 2026, the ministry continues to maintain these partnerships, with the e-Devlet portal and the official Family and Youth Fund website serving as the primary channels for couples to access specific discount codes and program details.
