Turkey ‘Terörsüz Türkiye’ political process

The ‘Terörsüz Türkiye’ (Terror-free Turkey) initiative has become a central focus of Turkish political discourse, characterized by varying levels of public support and active promotion by government leaders.

Public opinion polls indicate a broad majority of 61.6% support for the process, though levels of approval fluctuate significantly across political lines. Support is notably high among DEM Party, AK Party, and MHP voters, while it is considerably lower among CHP, Yeni Parti, and İYİ Party voters. Assessments of political leadership regarding the initiative show mixed results, with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan receiving the highest success ratings among respondents.

Government officials have framed the initiative as essential for national security and strength. AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı noted that legislative processes are being handled with sensitivity toward martyrs and veterans. Simultaneously, the Ministry of National Education is integrating the initiative into the school system through awareness training on human rights and patriotism. This coincides with broader curriculum reforms aimed at updating historical perspectives and emphasizing national and spiritual values.
