Overview

On the bilateral front, Erdoğan noted that strategic cooperation with the U.S. is evolving across sectors like energy and aviation, emphasizing that the Turkish defense industry now meets NATO standards. U.S. Ambassador Tom Barrack noted a strong rapport between Erdoğan and President Trump, though he observed that the U.S. Congress continues to review defense-related issues involving the S-400 and F-35 programs.

Turkey is also pursuing significant technological and space milestones. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced goals for ‘Turcorn’ valuations to exceed $100 billion by 2030 and stated that a moon spacecraft, featuring over 80 percent domestic contribution, is targeted for launch in early 2027. Additionally, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan participated in meetings focused on securing international support for peace and stability in Libya.
