Turkish agricultural investment and financing initiatives

Turkey has implemented several initiatives to bolster its agricultural and food sectors through various financing and grant programs.

In early October, Ziraat Bankası and the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution (TKDK) launched the TARGET Project. Coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and funded by the World Bank, this 10-year initiative aims to strengthen the agricultural-food value chain. The project provides repayable financing for up to 80% of investment costs, with loans reaching up to 10 million USD for facility construction and machinery. The total planned financing for the decade is 5.3 billion USD.

Later in the month, TKDK expanded regional support through the IPARD III Program, awarding grants to 15 projects in the Manisa and Izmir regions. These projects, totaling approximately 228 million TL in investment, focus on establishing milk processing facilities, cold storage warehouses, and olive oil production plants. Grant rates for these regional initiatives range from 50 to 70 percent, intended to modernize production and boost local competitiveness.
