Turkish contemporary art exhibitions and events
Overview
The Turkish art scene is hosting various exhibitions and discussions across several cities. In mid-September 2026, Istanbul’s Galerist opened the ‘Gönül İşi’ exhibition to mark its 25th anniversary, featuring works from nearly 50 artists. Concurrently, the Pintura Urla Sanat Galerisi announced the ‘İDA Exhibition’ in Urla, a multidisciplinary showcase centered on the theme of ‘Light’ scheduled for November.
By early October, programming expanded to include the ‘Artweeks Istanbul’ series at Akaretler Sıraevler. This event features ‘Collector’s Talks by Listnivo,’ a program designed to facilitate dialogue between collectors, curators, and artists regarding the art economy and preservation. Additionally, in İzmir, artist Pervin Özdemir opened the ‘Halikarnas Balıkçısı ve Arşipel’ exhibition at the İzmir Kültür Sanat Fabrikası, presenting ceramic sculptures inspired by the Aegean landscape and the literary figure Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı.
